Miss World Philippines 2021 Tracy Maureen Perez has advanced to the next round of the Miss World competition in Puerto Rico thanks to her Head-to-Head challenge win this past week.
During the challenge, the Cebuana beauty spoke about her Beauty with a Purpose project; Para Kay Nanay, which focuses on providing a livelihood for single moms in her town of Cordova.
” Para Kay Nanay: A Single Mother’s Journey to Love. That’s my beauty with a purpose project and it’s dedicated to my late mother and to all the single mothers in my community,” she said.
“Being a mother is the most important job, the most important role, yet oftentimes they are neglected. We fight so much, we talk so much about woman empowerment so why don’t we start empowering our mothers. Most especially those who go through so much difficulties having to raise their families all on their own.”
She said that with the platform provided by Miss World, she hopes to bring light and spark positive changes among single moms.
She said that providing training to them gives them that hope to continue despite the challenges around them.”It gives them hope that they can still go out there and learn new things and build a good life for their families. Because that’s what I want for them, that’s what they deserve, and that’s what I would have wanted for my mom if she was still here. That is my commitment, that is my dream.”
