After months of waiting and several postponements, Cebu’s Tracy Maureen Perez was crowned on Sunday, October 3 as the new Miss World Philippines in a 6-hour pageant held at the Subic Convention Center.
Despite falling twice on stage, Tracy was a trooper as she walked with the other winners that night. Her win was a big one for her province after another Cebuana, Beatrice Luigi Gomez won the Miss Universe Philippines title last September 30 in Bohol.
Shaila Rebortera, another Cebuana was crowned Miss Multinational Philippines.
The Miss World Philippines crown is a sweet one for Tracy, 28 as she joined the pageant twice. Here’s a look back at Tracy’s journey in the pageant scene.

Cebu pageants

Tracy first entered pageantry in Cebu, competing in Miss Cebu in 2016 and joining Binibining Cebu twice. She won the Binibining Cebu Charity in 2018.

Miss World Philippines 2019

In 2019, Tracy competed in Miss World Philippines where was a semifinalist. Michelle Dee won the crown and represented the country in London.

Miss Universe Philippines 2020

Tracy tried for the Miss Universe Philippines wherein she competed along with her fellow Cebuanas Lou Dominique Piczon and Apriel Smith. She won the Miss Photogenic award and was a semifinalist.

One last try for the World

Tracy was not giving up on her dreams and decided to give Miss World Philippines one last shot.

The coronation night

During the finals night in Subic, Tracy nabbed a number of special awards. She also showed off her physique the swimsuit round and her elegant walk during the evening gown segment.

After all the hard work, Tracy succeeded Michelle Dee and will compete in Puerto Rico in December. Although tired and exhausted, Tracy smiled for everyone who supported her Miss World Philippines journey.
