Newly crowned Miss Supranational Philippines 2021 Dindi Pajares has been a perennial favorite of pageant fans since 2016. But it took her several tries and setbacks before finally nabbing the dream crown she aimed for.

During the press conference held on Monday, July 26, Dindi, who competed in Binibining Pilipinas in 2016 and 2017, said she never stopped aiming for her goals even if she had so many heartaches along the way.

“I failed so many times in my life. You have to consider your failures, your struggles, and your setbacks as motivation, as a learning experience for you to push yourself harder. When you fail,  don’t consider yourself a failure. It only means you haven’t succeeded yet,” she said.

“It took me 4 years to get my dream crown but it’s really worth it.”

Dindi was announced as the country’s bet last Saturday, July 24 during a small ceremony held at the Red Hotel in Quezon City. She was picked by her Miss World Philippines sisters who stood as judges. Three other candidates – Ruffa Nava, Kathleen Paton, and Megan Campbell were also considered for the title.

Miss World Philippines national director Arnold Vegafria explained that they decided to do the small program after the government enforced new policies, putting Metro Manila under General Community Quarantine with heightened restrictions. Under the policy, mass gatherings are prohibited.

The Miss World Philippines pageant was originally scheduled for July 25. It was moved to August 8.

As she prepares for the competition in Poland, Dindi has received a lot of support not only from her Miss World Philippines sisters but also past Miss Supranational Philippines queens like Chanel Thomas and Jehza Huelar, who are also her good friends. Miss Supranational 2018 1st runner-up Katrina Dimaranan, who represented the US, has also congratulated her.

As for her wardrobe, Dindi shared that she’ll be wearing a national costume representing the 3 main islands. Designer Mark Bumgarner is set to do her evening gown and a number of Filipino designers, including those from her province of Bataan are helping her with the clothes.

The Miss Supranational pageant is scheduled in Nowy Sacz, Malopolska, Poland on August 21.
