Hours before the 70th Miss Universe competition in Eilat, Israel, Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo posted a message to her successor Beatrice Luigi Gomez as she vies for the 5th crown of the country.

On Instagram, Rabiya wrote: “I just wanna let you know how proud I am of you. I believe na malakas talaga ang laban mo because I saw the fire in your eyes and felt the grit in your heart and spirit.” (I believe that you have a fighting chance.)

“Alam kong lalaban ka at ngayon palang panalo kana sa mata ng maraming Pilipino.Ilaban mo Bea para sa Pilipinas! Mahal na mahal ka namin. Salamat sa lahat!” (I know you’ll fight and you’re already a winner in the eyes of the Filipino. Fight Bea for the Philippines. We love you and thank you for everything.)

Fellow Cebuana and Miss World Philippines 2021 Tracy Maureen Perez also gave her short message to Bea via Instagram stories.

“Praying and rooting for you always our Queen B! You got this @beatriceluigigmz laban! We are all with you in this fight.”

Rabiya placed in the Top 20 at the 69th edition held in Florida last May. Tracy is currently in Puerto Rico vying to be the second Filipina to win the Miss World crown.
