it’s been days since a new Miss Universe Philippines queen was crowned and everyone is still talking about the show. Two years since the pandemic hit the world, the people behind the competition wasted no time giving pageant fans a good number they’ve been craving for.

Opening number
Bamboo opened the number with “The Universe” as Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi “Bea” Gomez came out. The song was composed for the show by Kiko Salazar.
All 31 candidates walked on stage inspired by Victoria’s Secret wings in shimmery outfits. Miss Universe titleholders Pia Wurtzbach, Iris Mittenaere, and Demi-Leigh Tebow were later introduced as hosts.
It was later revealed that Benguet’s Shawntel Cruz left after not feeling well. She later confirmed in an Instagram post that she got sick with dengue.
The first set of awards was given with Pasay City’s Celeste Cortesi winning Miss Photogenic, Jewel Palacat of Ilocos Sur winning Miss Friendship, and Julia Saubier of Albay winning Best in National Costume.
The Top 16
From 31, the candidates were narrowed to the Top 16 chosen by the judges during the preliminary competition and votes from Lazada. The Miss Universe Philippines Top 16 are:
- Nueva Vizcaya – Fan Vote
- Taguig
- Cebu City
- Aklan
- Makati
- Albay
- Palawan
- Iloilo Province
- Baguio City
- Cebu Province
- Misamis Oriental
- Bohol
- Ilocos Sur
- Laguna
- Pasay
- Iloilo City
The Top 16 would then battle it out during the Swimsuit and Evening Gown rounds with Celeste Cortesi winning Best in Swimsuit and Michelle Dee winning Best in Evening Gown.
Announcement of Top 10
From the Top 16, the Top 10 were chosen to move on to the first round of interviews. The Top 10 are:
- Makati
- Pasay
- Baguio
- Taguig
- Misamis Oriental
- Cebu City
- Cebu Province
- Bohol
- Albay
- Iloilo Province
Each of the girls would then be interviewed by Pia where they were asked personality questions.
Reigning Miss Universe Philippines Bea Gomez also had her moment on stage where was interviewed by Demi, Iris, and Pia about her reign.
The Final 5
From Top 10, it was now on to the Top 5 with the following girls:
- Makati
- Misamis Oriental
- Taguig
- Pasay
- Bohol
The Top 5 then were asked a series of questions, with supporters cheering them on.
Time to shine Queens!
As the judges deliberated who will be the Philippines’ representative, the audience was treated to a mini-concert. But it was Morisette Amon who stole the show as she sang with each of the candidates and queens led by Pia, Demi, Bea, Iris, and Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu walked on stage.
The Miss Universe Philippines 2021 queens also got their moment to shine on stage.
The New Queen
It was finally time to crown the queen. First up was Taguig getting 2nd runner-up, Misamis Oriental as 1st runner-up, and Bohol winning Miss Charity.
It was down to Makati’s Michelle Dee and Celeste Cortesi of Pasay City. Whoever gets Miss Universe Tourism can take the place of the Miss Universe Philippines winner in case. Clearly, the night belongs to Pasay’s Celeste Cortesi.
