The Miss Universe Philippines Organization announced on Saturday, February 18 the 40 candidates who will compete in this year’s edition happening in April.
Originally, only 30 candidates were supposed to move on. But due to tough deliberation, the MUPH organization decided to make it to 40 candidates.
Heavy favorites such as Emmanuelle Vera, Michelle Dee, Pauline Amelinckx, Angelique Manto, and Samantha Panlilio are included in this year’s batch.
This year also marks the first time that the organization has allowed single moms and married women to compete in the competition. Three moms made it to this year’s batch.
Three crowns are at stake. The organization has yet to confirm the two other titles.
