Miss Grand International 2022 has just ended and Brazil’s bet Isabella Menin has just been crowned this year’s winner. Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2022 Roberta Angela Tamondong, unfortunately, didn’t make it to the Top 20.

Many pageant fans considered Roberta Tamondong one of the frontrunners this year, an instant Top 5 to the lists of many, especially after her crowning earlier this year. Robert Tamondong, although young, is 5’9″ and her accolades include winning several local titles and an international title – Miss Eco Teen International. Filipinos, hopeful as always, gave Miss Grand International another chance because finally, we are able to send a Miss Universe-caliber beauty who can definitely end our quest for the golden crown. But year after year, and particularly this year, Filipinos have been losing hope.

Like many other pageants, this edition of Miss Grand International 2022 elicited mixed reactions from enthusiasts, especially, the passionate fans of the Philippines. Right after the event, Filipino fans were eager to check Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc.‘s reaction after Roberta Tamondong didn’t even make it to the Top 10.

What shocked everyone was that Binibining Pilipinas Instagram account officially unfollowed the Miss Grand International account. Finally, the calls for the BPCI to drop the franchise may have actually come to fruition.

Rumors have circulated in the past months that Nawat Intagrasil, the owner of the controversial Miss Grand International pageant, went to the Philippines to meet some of the possible national directors for the standalone Miss Grand Philippines pageant. He also mentioned that if BPCI can’t hold a separate contest for the pageant, he will look for others who can.
