The record was previously held by last year’s edition that had 92 delegates from all over the world.
The three host cities that had the biggest delegate turnouts are:
- 2017 – Las Vegas, Nevada – 92 contestants
- 2011 – Sao Paulo, Brazil – 89 contestants
- 2012 – Las Vegas, Nevada – 89 contestants
65th Miss Universe in Manila, Philippines drew 86 candidates.
According to Shugart, Steve Harvey will be back as host while Ashley Graham will be his co-host.
