Three months since they were crowned as Binibining Pilipinas winners, Bb Pilipinas Intercontinental 2021 Cindy Obenita and Bb Pilipinas Globe 2021 Maureen Montagne are all set as they leave in a few days for their international competitions.
On Friday, October 8, Cindy and Maureen were given an online send-off by Bb Pilipinas Charities, wherein they answered questions sent by the media. Asked whether the long break has prepared them for the physical and emotional aspects of the pageant, both said the time gave them a lot to reflect on.
” We actually took advantage of the long break. We actually prepared emotionally, physically, mentally but there is still a lot to prepare, knowing that it’s going to be an international pageant,” Cindy said. “So me and my team have been working so hard. We’ve collaborated with creative people for my national costume, for the evening gown, as well as the different pieces for the wardrobe.”
Cindy promised that she will be “showcasing the best of the Philippines” in her stint in Egypt.
As for Maureen, the 28-year-old model who is bound for Albania said that last year as the country went through the pandemic, it made her humble.
“I think emotionally, it’s a state that I can be strong and at the same time, I can be vulnerable. I feel prepared and I think this break gave me a chance to grow more into myself. I feel pretty calm about going and for me, that’s the best emotion because I have faith in myself.”

Aside from the media questions, short greetings from their families and friends were also aired. Their other Binibini sisters also wished them luck in their respective competitions.
Maureen and Cindy will compete for the country’s second crowns in the Miss Intercontinental and Miss Globe pageant. In 2015, Ann Colis made history as the first Filipina to win the Miss Globe title. This was followed by several runner-up placements.
In 2018, Karen Gallman won the country’s first Miss Intercontinental title which was held in Manila on January 2019.
