The Binibining Pilipinas 2023 candidates formally started their activities through a blood donation drive spearheaded by the Philippine Red Cross last February 18 at Farmers Plaza.

Some of the candidates donated blood to help replenish the supply in the country’s blood bank.

According to Janice Melody Alfonso, RN, PRC Quezon City Chapter Administrator, the cancellation of blood donations due to the pandemic has caused the blood supply to reach an “insufficient and critical level”.

Aside from the candidates who donated blood, they were also oriented on the importance of donating blood.

The candidates are set to do more activities in the coming weeks before the finals sometime in April or May.
