Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach shared on Wednesday, April 13 that she already cast her vote at the Philippine embassy in the UAE, where she registered as an absentee voter last year.
“Got my girl boss suit on cos I’m feeling empowered today!” she wrote on her social media accounts. “As a first-time voter, I must say that it felt so good to vote today. Emotional actually. May halong excitement & relief that I finally took my stand. Shading that little black dot felt like I was finally making a choice towards our future. I know I’m only 1 person. Only 1 vote out of millions but every vote counts.”
The beauty queen, actress, and entrepreneur added that she encourages all Filipinos abroad to vote which will be available for one month.
” I also learned that only about 30% of ALREADY REGISTERED voters here in UAE are expected to vote. Sayang naman kung ganon. If you’re a Filipino living abroad who’s already registered, please make time for it because your vote counts. You have one whole month to do this so there’s really no excuse not to. Plus, the process in Abu Dhabi was super seamless.”

‘Naniniwala ako at naninindigan ako para kay Leni’

In one of the rare times she spoke regarding politics, Pia revealed that she voted for Vice President Leni Robredo.
“Today, I am even prouder to have voted for Leni to be our next President. I’m sharing this with you dahil naniniwala ako sa kakayahan ng isang babae. Naniniwala ako at naninindigan ako para kay Leni.”
Pia has a long history with the lone female presidential candidate. Back in 2015 when Pia tried for the third time in Binibining Pilipinas, it was Leni who asked her famous question about social media wherein she answered the phrase “think before you click.”
A year ago, Pia, along with friends and fellow beauty queens Carla Lizardo and Bianca Guidotti-Santos had Leni as one of their guests on the show Between Us Queens.
